Meet Maddie
I’m a Toronto-based graphic designer, RGD Associate, and artist with a practice rooted in thoughtful, purposeful design. My work spans branding, marketing, motion, and packaging, where I’m most engaged at the intersection of form and function. I believe strong design is never decorative alone—it’s intentional, strategic, and grounded in clear thinking.
I’m drawn to roles that offer variety and creative range. As a self-described design generalist, I value the opportunity to move across disciplines, applying and expanding my skill set while contributing to diverse projects and teams. This breadth keeps my work dynamic and continually evolving.
A LOOK INTO MY PRACTICE
How I Work
Establishing a Clear Brief and Objectives
Getting aligned on the brief: understanding the goals, audience, and constraints so every decision has purpose,
Research and Inspiration
Looking outward before I design: researching context, audience, and visual landscapes to inform direction.
Brainstorming and Concepting
Where ideas take shape: sketching, iterating, and pushing concepts beyond the obvious. Anything goes.
Execution
Bringing concepts to life with attention to detail, consistency, and craft across every touchpoint.

Fine Art Practices
Outside of my professional practice, I stay connected to my roots in fine art and illustration. When I’m not behind my laptop, I’m usually painting picnic tables, designing murals, or illustrating on my iPad. I’ve created work for clients including the City of Waterloo, City of Kitchener, Adobe, and others. Painting and drawing are what first led me to design, and I continue to value opportunities to create work that connects with the communities I’ve been part of.
When I’m not at my laptop, you’ll likely find me painting picnic tables, designing murals, illustrating on my iPad, or at the pottery wheel.
